Hi guys just got back from Portugal had a really good time got fun waves couple of good shots and footage! the trip is going to be run in Feb/march issue of wavelength.
Our Quiver team rider Adam has just finished fourth in Europe on the European Longboard Tour 2010 which is a fantastic result for him in his first year on tour.
Adam is the highest ranked surfer from England on the tour finishing above the likes of other British surfers such as Ben Skinner & James Parry.
The European Longboard Tour with only two contests left on the circuit and Adam sitting in fifth place on the tour. The first contest was in northern Morocco & the second being in Lisbon, Portugal.
"I decided it was going too be better to drive. We had a week before the contest to surf and drive to Morocco. With the help of Brittany Ferries we caught the Plymouth to Santander, ferry which cut out the hole of France. We left on a Thursday and About 5 days later we turned up in Morocco After driving 1500 miles and stopping for a few surfs on the way down. Just a day or two before the contest. The contest started on the weekend and the waves were small but fun. I made the semi Finals finishing joint 7th. In a very hard semi final against Remi Aruzo, Ben Skinner & Ed Delpero. With A few extra points towards my overall finishing position and a bit off prize money. We packed our bags and headed to Portugal for the final contest of the tour."
One of our youngest riders, Joseph Morris from Wales is a big fan of Quiver winning his very first comp on it last week in Wales. Here are some shots of him ripping on his board with his custom Welsh Dragon artwork.
Well done to Quiver team rider Aaron Evans taking 3rd place in the Oakley Pro Junior 2010 in Newcastle. Aarons been on good competition form this year and is getting better results than ever.
Well, He did it, he set goals at the start of 2010 and has reached them. Quiver team rider Alex Maddocks has just won the British U16's Longboard Champion 2010 title. He also came 4th in the U18's which is a fantastic result for his age.
So very stoked for him, it's been a tough year with a change of school, change of curriculum meaning he had to cram 2 years work into 1 for his GCSE's, but what a year.
Adam Griffiths, riding for Quiver surfboards has just finished 3rd in the second event of the European longboard tour in France. He narrowly missed out on making the final by 0.15. in the man on man, semi finals.
The next event will be at watergate, U.K. On the first weekend of October where Adam is hoping that a bit of local knowledge will help towards a win in the next event.
Newly signed Quiver team rider Dale Foster put in a fantastic effort this weekend taking 2nd and 3rd place in the yr 14 age group and the under 18's surfing in the Jesus Surf classic up in Bude this weekend. He only picked up his new stick less than a week ago so didn't take him too long to get used to it. Well done Dale!
The Quiksilver 2010 British Nationals were held at Fistral beach this weekend and we saw local boy and Quiver rider Johnny Fryer taking out the Men's Open Title and to match, Sarah Beardmore winning the Ladies Open title on her Quiver and Nicole Morgan, another Quiver rider taking second place. With only a small swell on the Saturday, competition conditions were extremely challenging for all concerned. However thankfully, Sunday saw some improvement in the swell and an onshore wind helped generate some shoulder high waves throughout the day.
The mens final was pretty much an all Cornish affair with Johnny Fryer currently living in Newquay and Ollie Adams (Newquay), Jayce Robison from St Ives and Toby Donachie from St Merryn. Adding this success to her victory in the English Nationals WQS surfer Sarah Beardmore is having a pretty great season!Well done to all our riders that took part this weekend.Mens Results: 1st Johnny Fryer 2nd Oli Adams 3rd Jayce Robinson 4th Toby Donachie
